"On the Hunt for What’s Possible: the NASA Institute for Advanced Concepts"

ABSTRACT -- NASA's Institute for Advanced Concepts (NIAC) is searching for changes to transform space exploration. The talk will address some of the far-reaching studies NIAC is sponsoring as part of the agency’s Space Technology Program, along with a recently released NASA Research Announcement soliciting new studies.

SPEAKER -- Dr. Jay Falker works at NASA Headquarters in Washington, DC, as the Program Executive leading the NASA Innovative Advanced Concepts (NIAC) and Center Innovation Fund (CIF) Programs.

Since joining NASA in 2003, Jay has supported Headquarters and the Johnson Space Center in various roles related to technology, system, and architecture development. He has received over a dozen awards, recognizing distinguished achievement and outstanding leadership.

His prior work includes other agencies, contractors, universities, and federal research centers. Jay holds a PhD in Aerospace Engineering & Policy Analysis from MIT, where his research focused on future air and space traffic management.
