Jeff Didion

"Flying an Experiment in Microgravity"

ABSTRACT -- Jeffrey Didion is the Co-Investigator and Lead Experiment Hardware Development Engineer for the International Space Station Experiment, Electrically Driven Liquid Thin Film Flow Boiling in the Absence of Gravity. Thin film liquid boiling is an efficient thermal management technique that is made possible in microgravity with appropriate application of electric based fluid management techniques. This talk will outline the development of this novel thermal management approach from concept to space flight validation. Mr. Didion will present the technology readiness advances as well as experiences from two variable gravity flight campaigns and ISS space technology demonstration experiment. He will discuss the upcoming variable gravity campaign, scheduled in November 2019, and the flight experiment goals.
